Massart and Absil's quotient geometry with simple geodesics gives riva2026random the Procrustes distance as geodesic distance on the base manifold and the result that the injectivity radius at [X] equals sqrt(lambda_d), which we exploit when discussing the breakdown of interpolation between time steps.
